Truewerk XP WerkPant – What We Say

Removing a Tire

Starting with the fit, I ordered my normal 36-inch waist and the XP fit true to size. There’s plenty of stretch built in and the belt loops are robust. Even if you tend to fluctuate a bit, order your regular size knowing you’re covered whether you gain or lose a little.

The material is the exact same blend and weight as the T1 WerkPant. If you’re comfortable in those, you’ll be comfortable in these.

The biggest difference between the two is the addition of removable knee pads. They wear like they’re minimal in size, yet you get excellent coverage. The EVA foam pad is 9 1/2 x 6 inches, and 1/4-inch thick with cutouts that promote airflow. If bulky strap-on knee pads drive you nuts, you’ll love these.

On Your Knees

Because of the foam construction, we expect to replace them once or twice a year, depending on how much time you spend on your knees. You can get longer-lasting polyurethane Truewerk Airwerk Knee Pad Pro replacements for $39.00.

EVA Foam Knee Pad

That said, some folks may still prefer more substantial padding and/or a hard plastic knee cover. If you suffer from sore knees chronically, you might be in that boat. There’s a chance that doubling up pads in the knees can make it work for you. Just don’t toss your old knee pads until you’ve tried Truewerk’s first.

The pocket loadout isn’t quite as generous as the T1. The XP forgoes the second phone pocket stacked on the first and the small zip pocket on the right hip. While those are nice to have, we don’t find that we miss them.

Truewerk XP WerkPant Price

You can get these work pants for $99, including the knee pads. At the moment, they only come in black and in a men’s fit. Waist sizes run 28 – 44 inches, and lengths are available in 30 – 36 inches.

The Bottom Line

If you’re a fan of the T1 WerkPant (who isn’t?), then you’ll love the Truewerk XP WerkPant for those days that your knees are in contact with the ground or against equipment you’re working on. With built-in knee pads that retain the movement and flexibility Truewerk is known for, it’s an excellent upgrade to keep the T1’s primary characteristics while saying goodbye and good riddance to your strap-on knee pads.
