DeWalt D36000 Highlights
The D36000 wet tile saw lets you make rip cuts up to 37″, as well as cut 24″ x 24″ tile on a diagonal. It offers 18″ worth of cutting clearance to the left of the blade and 8-1/2″ cross-cut capacity before the column.
DeWalt claims that their 10-inch wet tile saw provides excellent water containment as well, though we’ll have to wait till its release until we can verify that claim. In any case, DeWalt intends for this saw to see some use in finished, indoor spaces.
Featuring aluminum framing and stainless steel rails, the DeWalt 10-inch wet tile saw weighs in at a manageable 91 pounds. Nesting pans and accessory storage for your miter gauge and cart extensions make carrying the saw more convenient and DeWalt has included a strap to keep the pump in place during transit.
A stable, rubber-matted cutting cart is available as a kitted option for the D36000 as well. It provides consistent accuracy to within 1/32″ over a 30″ rip cut.
Additionally, you can opt to purchase DeWalt’s 33 ft. Laser Square (DW0802), which comes available in the spring as well. DeWalt has designed it to function with the D36000 with its 3 integrated mounting pins. It has IP54 protection, an aluminum base, and two red beams that project a true 90° angle. Expect it to run $49.99.
The saw itself should retail for $1,149 without the stand and $1,199 with it. It comes with DeWalt’s 3-year limited warranty, a one-year free service contract, and a 90-day money-back guarantee.
DeWalt 10-Inch Wet Tile Saw Side-By-Side Comparison
Here’s a quick glance at DeWalt’s D24000 compared to the new D36000:
DeWalt D24000 | DeWalt D36000 | |
Blade Diameter | 10″ | 10″ |
No-Load Speed | 4200 RPM | 4200 RPM |
Bevel Capacity | 45º | 45º |
Diagonal Cut Capacity | 18″ x 18″ | 24″ x 24″ |
Rip Capacity | 25″ | 37″ |
Rip Capacity with Plunge | 28″ | 41″ |
Max Depth of Cut | 3-1/8″ | 3-3/8″ |
Weight | 69 pounds | 91 pounds |
Price | $749 | $1149 |
Even though the blade diameter and no-load speeds are the same, there are some massive gains in capacity. Your diagonal cut capacity improves by 33% and rip capacity is up 48% (46% with plunge). There’s even a slight depth advantage for the D36000.
The trade-off comes as significantly higher weight and price. If you’re consistently working with larger tiles, it may well be worth the extra effort and cost.
