Our Take
Two things stand out with the new Ridgid Re 12-M. First of all, anytime you get to claim you have the lightest weight tool in your class, it’s going to draw some attention – and some skepticism. Ridgid still backs it with their lifetime warranty, so build quality shouldn’t be much of a concern. All the same, be sure to register your tool.
In an age where lithium-ion power is replacing tools left, right, and center, many Pros don’t want to think about manually working a hydraulic crimper. Ridgid makes it a bit easier for the end-user with their RapidAdvance system. Just two pumps will engage the cable and it’s more efficient than most other manual crimpers out there when it comes to finishing the job. Once it does, the pressure release valve lets you know the cycle is complete.
