The Makita LS1018 Miter Saw focuses on three key areas to improve performance. The 10-inch Makita miter saw utilizes a direct drive, dials in a combination of capacity and accuracy, and decreases overall weight.
Makita LS1018 Miter Saw Features
The 13 amp direct-drive motor results in smoother start-up and consistent power with no belts to slip or replace. The 10″ diameter blade and sliding motion mean that users can get a 12-inch crosscut but without the loss of accuracy that comes with using a 12-inch blade. Also improving the accuracy is a linear ball bearing system that keeps the blade spinning true. In the midst of all off that, the Makita LS1018 weighs in under 45 pounds to make it a more portable option for job sites.
The miter saw also features an electric brake and see-through guard system. To the left, the saw can miter up to 47 degrees, and up to 60 degrees on the right. To both left and right, there are positive stops at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, and 45 degrees. It will bevel up to 45 degrees to both left and right.
Joe Soto, Residential Construction Project Manager for Makita notes that “Makita miter saws are leaders in their categories, and the LS1018 is the latest addition to this expanding line-up. This versatile saw provides smooth and cutting in a full range of materials, from fine hardwoods to rough lumber, softwoods, case and base, crown molding, and other wood materials.”
