Each of the new DeWalt Cushion Grip Nail Sets is designed with the steel core extending past the strike cap, which improves the energy transfer to get the job done more easily. DeWalt also added a bi-material grip on each of the nail sets to help provide shock-absorption and comfort. Additional features include a cupped tip for easy alignment, and each set is color coded for quick size identification on the jobsite. These will work great with the new DeWalt hammers and other DeWalt hand tools.
DeWalt already had a nail set system that utilized a locking collar and interchangeable heads to accommodate 1/32″, 2/32″ (1/16″) a and 3/32″ sizes. No word yet on whether this model will be discontinued, though I believe the new DeWalt Cushion Grip Nail Sets have a greater appeal—and the kit is also around half the price.
