Makita’s 9237c 7-inch polisher is made for the professional. This rotary polisher has the horsepower to cut through the toughest finish with the harshest of products. When we have a vehicle with serious blemishes in the finish, this is the polisher that we reach for. Whether we are using a wool pad with compound or a foam pad with polish, the Makita polisher will deliver all the power that’s asked for.
This is not a tool meant for the DIY or weekend warrior that details cars in their driveway. With 6 speeds and 3,200 rpm, the rotary Makita polisher will send all the power to the pad. If you’re not careful, this is a polisher that will overheat the finish very quickly. In the hands of a pro, it will also work the worst finishes into a masterpiece.
Using the 7″ Makita Polisher 9237C
Through the many years in my detailing business, I have had the luxury of owning a couple Makita polishers. The last one was stolen from my business, which, reluctantly, I did not replace. Putting the Makita 9237C in my hands again reminded me of the what I’ve been missing. With this newest model, I definitely notice the variable speed trigger and the soft start. The 6-speed dial is nice, but I typically leave it on “6” and use the variable speed trigger to dial in the rpm/power that I need. The soft-start allows me to load the pad with product and not fling polish everywhere, making for much less cleanup.
