New GearWrench Hooks and Picks Improve Reach and Strength

Mechanic’s hooks and picks resemble the same tools you find in a dentist’s office for the same exact reasons – both need precision tools for hard to reach places. At the high end side of the Apex Tool Group, new GearWrench hooks and picks fill the need for quality tools in this department.

12 new open stock hooks and picks are available individually or in two new hook and pick sets to expand the existing line. New standard duty tools have the same handles and slim shanks just like the current hook and pick offerings. For these, the shanks are made a little longer for improved access. The new heavy duty models are designed with larger 4.6″ handles and extra-long, heavy duty, larger diameter shanks for improved access and greater strength.

The hand tools feature a blade that is securely fixed in the handle for no twist operation. They also offer a Tri-Lobe dual material ergonomic handle for a more comfortable grip. Specifically designed for auto shops, the handles are resistant to gas, brake fluid, antifreeze, and other solvents. The blades are chrome plated and heat treated for strength and durability.

The standard hooks and picks retail for $8.25 each or you can grab the 8-piece set for $56.64. Each of the heavy duty hooks and picks retail for $14.95 and the set of four is available for $60.06. For those that prefer the tool box to stay organized, the new sets are packed in a vacuum formed tray designed to fit in a 2″ tool box drawer.
