Toro Revolution Backpack Blower Blends Performance with a Versatile Power Source
Many Pros prefer backpack blowers as opposed to handheld blowers due to their heightened performance level and all-day comfort. Toro makes high-quality outdoor power equipment, but until recently, the brand has been missing a backpack blower on the 60V platform. That’s all changing with the Toro 60V Revolution Backpack Blower, which offers a unique, interchangeable design. I’m going over what this backpack blower has to offer, and how it fits into your crew’s lawn care routine.
Curious who makes the best cordless leaf blowers?
Toro 60V Revolution Backpack Blower Performance
- Model: Toro 66100
- Max air volume: 730 CFM
- Max air speed: 160 MPH
- Variable speed trigger
- Brushless motor
- Turbo boost
- Cruise control
If you’re like me, you might wonder why Toro is just now getting around to a backpack blower. After all, the 60V line has been out for a while. Until now, the focus has been on residential use, but the Revolution line shifts to a focus on professional lawn care.
The Toro 66100 Revolution backpack leaf blower features a brushless motor that drives air volume levels of up to 730 CFM. While this isn’t the highest-performing blower Toro has to offer (that honor belongs to the 60V 900 CFM blower), it’s certainly nothing to turn up your nose at.
This model is Toro’s first backpack blower, and you can even power other Toro outdoor power equipment using the Revolution backpack (more on that later).
The blower has a variable speed trigger that lets you adjust your speeds up to 160 MPH. A Turbo boost thumb button on the handle lets you reach this top performance level. You can also toggle on the cruise control function to keep your speed steady as you work.
Toro 60V Revolution Backpack Blower Design
- Weight: 17.75 pounds (bare)
- Backpack compatible with select Toro OPE
- LED battery gauge
The Revolution blower weighs 17.75 pounds without the battery. That weight is offset to your back and torso thanks to its backpack design. Like most backpack blowers, you can adjust the shoulder straps, hip straps, and sternum straps to your comfort.
What’s different about this blower is the way it connects to the backpack. The blower cannon and the backpack are separate units, and you connect them via a latching system on the side of the backpack.
This design enables your crew to utilize a 60V Max Flex-Force battery in the backpack to power a variety of Toro Revolution commercial-grade handheld equipment.
It’s compatible with the blower cannon, as well as Toro 60V string trimmers and hedge trimmers. The latter two tools require the use of a Toro Powerlink Tether, which acts as a dummy pack for the battery slots for those tools.
Toro 60V Revolution Backpack Blower Price
This backpack blower retails for $399, including the blower and the Revolution backpack. This configuration does not include any batteries or chargers, so be sure to pick those up separately. Toro backs your purchase with a 3-year warranty.
If you already own a Toro Revolution backpack, you can also buy the Leaf Blower Cannon by itself for $249. If you’d like, you can also purchase an extra Revolution Backpack for $299 to fit out your whole crew.
