The World Of Concrete Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, might be one of our favorite events that we make it out to every year. It gives us some good insight into upcoming product releases from various manufacturers. For us, it feels a little like Christmas. This year’s expo gave us a good indication of what to look out for from Makita, among other manufacturers. They’ve been on a roll recently, focusing on tool production that meets the new OSHA regulations for silica dust exposure. On the cordless side of things, we took a look at one of the brand’s rotary hammers that comes with an onboard HEPA vacuum and filter system to get OSHA compliance without a hose. Makita has also really impressed us with their AWS Auto-Start Wireless System. Basically, this system allows Bluetooth connectivity between your cordless tools and your dust extractor. That way, you get the same kind of auto tool activation you enjoy on corded extractors.
