DeWalt just announced its 20V Max half gallon wet and dry hand vacuum. It is actually an improved DeWalt DC515 18V XRP NiCad cordless hand vacuum, so it’s another upgrade to lithium-ion power. If you used the previous model, expect both power and run time upgrades. The DeWalt 20V Max Wet-Dry Hand Vacuum still uses the same GORE HEPA filter like that of DC515. The filter traps up to 99.7% of dust particles as tiny as 0.3 microns. It also minimizes leakage of dust in the vacuum exhaust air.
The DeWalt DCV517 offers a membrane coating that minimizes dust penetration through the filter. The cartridge is washable by either tapping clean or rinsing with water. After it is cleaned, the original performance will be restored. Thanks to the membrane filter design, you won’t have to go through any component changes no matter if you’re working with wet or dry material.
For capacity, the DeWalt 20V Max Wet-Dry Hand Vacuum offers 1/2 gallon tank, which is actually about as good as it gets in the hand vac class. It is equipped with a flexible hose attachment, which also provide the user with dual clean-up modes: the built-in gulper nozzle for bigger jobs and the detachable hose for tighter spaces. Its 2.5-ft hose is extendable up to 5-ft and accepts DeWalt vacuum accessories as well with the help of DeWalt Universal AirLock Adaptor. DeWalt pays attention to ergonomics with a gripped handle and easy to accesspower switch.
