The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Multi-Tool (XMT03) delivers up to 20 minutes of run time with Makita’s LXT 18V Batteries. Using the rapid charger that comes with the kit, those batteries can charge in just 30 minutes for the 3.0 Ah pack. The variable speed control dial allows you to dial in between 6,000 and 20,000 oscillations per minute. The soft start feature gives you additional control when starting your cuts. The 3.2-degree oscillation angle is designed around the idea of faster, more aggressive cutting.
The Makita XMT035 features an LED light to illuminate darker work areas and a small diameter barrel grip for better ergonomics. The on/off switch also has a lock-on ability. Adapters are available in order to fit a number of other manufacturers’ accessories. There’s also an indicator on the tool to let you know when it’s time to charge the battery. While I’d still prefer to have a bar system on the battery or tool, this is still better than having no notice. With the 20-minute run time, you’ll want to have a spare on hand. It also includes Star Protection Computer Controls to preserve the life of the battery and tool through electronic communication.
Cordless Tool Product Manager Mario Lopez had this to say about the Makita 18V LXT Multi-Tool: “Trades of all kinds are turning to oscillating multi-tools for a full range of applications. With the new XMT035, contractors get corded power and performance, reduced vibration and lower noise, and the convenience of tool-less accessory change.”
