Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless Drilling and Driving Line Finds a Sweet Spot
Apparently the colder it gets outside, the more really cool stuff Milwaukee comes out with for us inside. Just announced today is the new line of cordless drilling a driving tools that find a sweet spot between the traditional M18 line and the heavy duty M18 Fuel line. The Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless line features the M18 name, but will have a brushless motor. They won’t be carrying the Powerstate Brushless Motors that are found in the M18 Fuel line, so there’s still a clear delineation between the two families. So what does that mean for users? We’re looking at run time improvement of about 50% according to Milwaukee. There’s also going to be a slight increase in overall power on these models, but not much. The most tangible benefit will be that extended run time. The new Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless branch of the family includes a drill, hammer drill, and impact driver.
“Milwaukee introduced their award-winning M18 FUEL™ line in 2012, and not only redefined industry standards in performance, durability, and run-time, but mainstreamed the use of brushless motors in power tools,” said Cole Conrad, Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool. “As the power tool industry evolves and expectations increase, users continue to demand drilling & fastening solutions that provide longer run-time than brushed motors can deliver. Milwaukee’s new offering will utilize an efficient brushless motor to meet the run-time and size needs of users that need professional power, but do not need the extreme performance that the M18 FUEL™ line delivers.” This also means that users will now be able to stay in Milwaukee’s line, upgrade to a brushless motor, but get a tool that isn’t priced as high as the M18 Fuel line. Here’s a break down of what to expect from each of the new Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless Tools.
