There are a lot of reasons why a cordless fan might be a good idea. Even though it’s winter, we’re doing some renovation work here in Central Florida where we don’t yet have our temporary power in place. On a job site in a region where winter never seems to fully take hold, Makita’s new 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Fan (BCF201Z) sounds like a pretty great idea. The BCF201Z fan is being positioned as a solution product for for painters and other contractors who want a portable air flow device to help cool them off, or aid in venting a room or drying out material.
Makita 18V LXT Cordless Fan Features
The new BCF201Z has two settings (1700 RPM high, 1200 low) with up to 3 hours of continuous run time in low speed. The fan comes as a bare tool only, but when it can be powered by Makita 14.4V – 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, or even an included AC adapter. There is a handy 3-stage automatic timer that will power off the fan automatically after 1, 2 or 4-hours. This is perfect for when the fan can be plugged in and you want to leave the job site without having the fan run all night long.
The Makita 18V LXT Cordless Fan seems well-built, with protective bumpers on the side. On the top is a large carrying handle and you can tilt the fan head a full 45 degrees to direct it just about anywhere you’d like. The fan is also pretty compact, measuring just 13.6″L x 5″ W x 21″ H (it weighs just 5.7 lbs with an 18V XLT battery installed).
The Makita 18V LXT cordless fan comes with the company’s 1-Year warranty and is already available online.
