Milwaukee’s design team has been back at it, this time with the creation of Milwaukee Jobsite Scissors. While scissors don’t always get a ton of love, most of us carry them in our tool bags for those times when a utility knife just won’t cut it. Milwaukee’s design boasts up to 10 times greater lifespan than competitor’s models with iron carbide cutting surfaces. All-metal handles add to durability that is shown by surviving over 1000 drops in testing. Possibly the most annoying characteristic of scissors is the loosening of the blades over time. Milwaukee works against this with Bolt Lock Technology
Bobby Shaw, Director of Marketing for Milwaukee Tool Corporation offered some thoughts. “Most professionals have scissors in their toolbox to cut things like felt for wrapping pipes, insulation tape, rubber, and even metal pallet banding straps, but the options available today were simply not designed for the materials and rough conditions on a jobsite,. Milwaukee’s scissor solutions were designed from the ground up for professional tradesman with features such as Iron Carbide cutting edges for maximum durability during tough cuts and all-metal handle loops for protection from drops and handle breakage.”
Milwaukee Jobsite Scissors are being produced in two models. Model 48-22-4040 features offset handles with serrated blades. Model 48-22-4041 will have smaller blades with a smooth cutting surface and straight handles. Ruler markings are etched on the blade to help with precision when the length of the cut is important. An index finger groove on the handle helps improve control. The design is intended for either right or left handed use as well as for use with work gloves.
The new Milwaukee Jobsite Scissors are due out in August wherever Milwaukee Tools are sold. For more information on the Jobsite Scissors and other hand tools in the lineup, please visit Milwaukee’s website.
