T-Rex Tape Flexes its Prehistoric Muscles
Extreme tensile strength is the claim to fame for Shurtech’s T-Rex Tape. In fact, the brand claims that one loop of this burly tape can hold over 700 lbs.
We had our doubts about this one. So, naturally, we strapped Kenny up to his truck to see if he could pull it with one loop of tape. We wrapped one end of the loop around the brush guard on the truck. The other end went around Kenny’s waist. Then we smashed the adhesive sides together. And, wouldn’t you know it, it held up.
“That’s some damn strong tape,” he said, ten yards later.
How does it achieve this level of muscle? The T-Rex Tape utilizes the brand’s “Forge-Link” tech. This seems to revolve around the cloth that the brand uses as a tape backing. Between the tape backing and the double-thick adhesive, Shurtech claims that you won’t be able to tear it by hand.
Speaking of the adhesive, there’s so much of it that this tape will stick to even rough and dirty surfaces. Shurtech designed it to provide a secure hold on a wide variety of surfaces. T-Rex Tape is also waterproof and UV resistant, so you can use it in a wide variety of conditions.

Here comes the hard news: the Shurtech T-Rex Tape might be dinosaur strong, but it also comes with a dinosaur-sized price tag. A comparably-sized roll of duct tape might run you around $4. This premium tape bites you back at the register with a $14.99 price tag. Even the pretty-buff Gorilla Tape can be had for only $8 or $9.
The point here is that, if you require the brutest of forces from your tape, the T-Rex might be worth the extra cost. You’ll have to decide how prehistoric you need to go on the job at hand.
