Sola Combines Multiple Smart Functions in One Digital Level
The Sola Go! Smart digital level isn’t just some lame tool that only performs one function and calls it a day. It takes advantage of digital and Bluetooth technology to pack a spirit level, inclinometer, and protractor into one single device. And, with the Sola Measures app on your smart device, you can take advantage of the additional features that Bluetooth enables.
What Can The Sola Go! Smart Do For You?
Sola designed the Go! Smart digital level to provide accurate measurements for most applications. The measurement tolerance of this digital level is 0.05º at 0º and 90º, with that accuracy dropping to 0.2º between 1º and 89º. We’ve certainly seen greater accuracy in levels, but you’ll also pay a lot more. 0.2% is pretty respectable for a digital level with Bluetooth connectivity priced right around $100.
That makes it great for working with gradients and angles with maximum precision. Because it features a compact body with integrated magnets, it works really well in applications where you need to adjust saw blade angles or measure miter joints. The Sola Go! Smart Digital Level lets you view your measurements in degrees, percentages, mm/m, and in/ft.
The digital display on the Sola Go! Smart makes your measurements easily readable from any position. Inverted positions will rotate the readout on the backlit display. And, if you’re measuring from a spot that makes reading the measurement difficult, you can use the Bluetooth capabilities to pipe the measurement directly to your phone’s screen.
Bluetooth Functions
In addition, the Bluetooth capability of the Sola Go! Smart, combined with the Measures app, opens up this tool to its full potential. For example, you can transfer measurements to your smart device in real-time. You can control functions on the level from the app. Real-time data, like the date and time, automatically record each time a measurement gets taken, and you have the option to add notes, photos, and videos to each recorded measurement.
You can also use the app to engage the Photo-Overlay export tool. Here, you can have the real-time measurement, time, and date stamped directly onto your photo. This lets you share your measurement results with your team or your clients quickly and easily.
At only 3 inches, the Sola Go! Smart Digital Level fits into any toolbox for any job. It comes with a belt pouch that gives you a safe spot to keep it always close at hand.
Measuring and Setting Blade Bevels
One particular use we like this tool for involves verifying blade angles on table and miter saws. We’re frequently either checking for accuracy or simply looking to make a detailed compound angled cut. In both cases, a tool like the Sola Go! comes in very handy. With a 0.2° minimum accuracy, it gets you right where you need to be when setting bevels for trim carpentry.
Pricing and Availability
The Sola Go! Smart Digital Level hits stores in Q2 2021. It should retail for around $99. That’s a reasonable price in our book for a tool with these features and capabilities.
