ETANCO, a leader in the European construction market for fixing and fastening solutions, has been acquired by Simpson Strong-Tie. Founded in 1956, American company Simpson Strong-Tie has made it its goal to provide exceptional products and services. With ETANCO’s European reputation, they hope this company acquisition will give them a strong footing in the overseas market.
Simpson Strong-Tie’s ETANCO Acquisition – The Big Deal
ETANCO boasts an impressive €260 million ($280 million USD) in sales and 18,000 customers throughout the world. Founded in 1952, the company celebrated its 70th anniversary this year. Simpson Strong-Tie has a similarly long history, founded in 1956. The company has even expanded in the last two decades, providing products like anchors and adhesives. We’ve been fans of Simpson Strong-Tie for years. They make exceptional fasteners (and we happen to think they make the best drywall anchors.)
“ETANCO and Simpson have a very similar DNA as we’ve both built our business on high-quality products and unmatched customer service. Collectively, we can expand and optimize our European footprint while introducing new products to our combined customer base.”
Ronan Lebraut, President of ETANCO Group
Understanding the ETANCO Acquisition
Strong-Tie’s company vision is “To provide the most trusted construction solutions on jobs worldwide.” With this acquisition, their vision is more attainable, since ETANCO provides so many of its products and service throughout Europe and beyond.
ETANCO has been the subject of other acquisitions in the past. In March of 2021, they announced the acquisition of SYSTEA GmbH, the largest ventilated facade market in Germany. In 2018, they also acquired the design and manufacturing company IT-FIXING, which makes thermal break fasteners. With this acquisition, Simpson Strong-Tie will be able to utilize the strengths of each individual company.
