Senco has expanded its line of auto feed screwdrivers with a pair of new tools and a trio of attachments that are capable of driving 3″ screws. The Senco DS332-AC and DS312-18V Duraspin give users corded or cordless options. Two attachment kits are available, the Senco DS440-AC and the DS425-AC that come with a corded screwdriver while the DS320 can be purchased as a standalone to fit your existing screw gun. We reviewed the Senco DS212-18V auto-feed screwdriver, so it was nice to see this line expanded and evolving to include new capacity.
Since the addition of using 3 inch screws gives us the chance to be more efficient by doing more with fewer tools, we’re pretty stoked about getting these in our hands. After all, if we can get the project done faster, there’s more time to go fishing with the kids. Let’s take a closer look at these offerings in the Duraspin line that claim to reduce screw waste and increase installation speed by up to 30%.
Senco DS332-AC and Senco DS312-18V
The Senco DS332-AC and Senco DS312-18V auto feed screwdrivers are powered by a 2500 RPM high torque motor and controlled by a variable speed trigger with a lock and reverse. Helping the user work efficiently, both models feature Senco’s patented sliding screw guide and patent-pending corner-fit feed system. Need to switch from a 1″ screw to a 3″ screw or deal with changing substrate? No problem. The 332 and 312 have a tool free adjustment for screw lengths and a depth-of-drive adjustment with depth lock. Bit changes should be easy using the quick slide button. For those lefties out there, the belt hook is adjustable to fit your preference.
The DS332-AC is corded, so the user can work all day without the run time considerations of cordless power tools. The DS312-18V runs on an 18V Lithium-Ion battery and Senco tells that the user should be able to drive between 200 and 700 screws on one charge, depending on the screw length and substrate. Both kits include two drive bits, a drywall and wood nosepiece, and case. The cordless DS312-18V kit also includes two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries and charger. Both are covered under Senco’s 1 year limited warranty. MSRP on the DS332-AC is $159.00 and the DS312-18V is $269.
Senco DS320 Attachment, DS425AC kit, and DS440AC kit
The Senco DS320 is an attachment for existing power screwdrivers and some impact drivers that brings all the fun and efficiency of an auto feed screwdriver to your work site. The user will find some of the the same features in the attachment as DS332 and DS312 including the locking depth of drive adjustment, patented sliding rail, and patent-pending corner-fit feed system. The DS320 includes the attachment, an extension pole with adjustable handle, and grip handle.
The Senco DS425AC kit starts with a Senco SG2510 screwgun that features a 2500 RPM high torque motor and includes the complete DS320 attachment kit, spare drive bits, and a storage bag. The DS440AC kit is similar with the exception that it starts with the SG4100 screwgun featuring a 4000 RPM high speed motor. All the attachments and kits come with Senco’s one year limited warranty. The DS320 has an MSRP of $99.00 while the DS425AC kit is set at $249 and the DS440AC kit is $219.00.
