Ryobi Brings Comfort to the USB Lithium Lineup
While Ryobi is a popular brand at The Home Depot for all of your power tool needs, they’re also well-versed in lifestyle products. Perhaps the most comfortable one yet is the Ryobi USB Lithium Heated Cushion. I’m looking at what it has to offer to see if it could help you stay warm this winter.
Ryobi USB Lithium Heated Cushion Overview
- Model: Ryobi FVT51K
- 3 temperature settings
- Up to 5 hours of runtime
- 2-port power source
- Mobile charging capability
- 3-inch thick cushion
- LED power source indicator
- Compatible with all Ryobi USB Lithium batteries
The Ryobi FVT51K heated cushion uses the brand’s USB Lithium power source, which accepts up to two batteries. It has a runtime of up to 5 hours when using both 2.0Ah batteries included with the kit.
The cushion itself is three inches thick to provide comfort anywhere from the bleachers to the jobsite. It has three temperature settings, with LED indicators to help you easily identify your selected mode.
- Low: 110°F (white)
- Medium: 130°F (orange)
- High: 150°F (red)
Finally, there’s a pouch on the side of the cushion to store your power bank and cord while it’s plugged in.
Mobile Charging
Ryobi tells us you can charge a mobile device using the included USB Lithium power bank. One thing to note is that the power bank only features one USB-C port. While this isn’t a deal breaker, if you wanted to charge your mobile device using the power bank, you would have to unplug it from the cushion.
A potential solution is to remove one battery from the power bank and power the cushion with the remaining battery within the power bank. You can then charge your phone directly from the removed battery via a separate USB-C cord (not included). While this method won’t give you a full charge, it will keep you powered on in an emergency, while still being able to heat the cushion.
Ryobi USB Lithium Heated Cushion Price
This cushion retails for $89 as a kit starting in October 2024. It includes two 2.0Ah batteries, a USB Lithium power source, and a USB-C charging cable. Ryobi backs your purchase with a 2-year warranty on the batteries and a 1-year warranty on the cushion and power source.
