Ryobi 40V 1200 PSI Battery-Powered Pressure Washer

Ryobi 40V Pressure Washer Helps You Go Cord-Free for Light-Duty Cleaning

How do you pick the right pressure washer for your needs? With so many variations in power source, power level, and size, it can be difficult to track down the right model. If your outdoor cleaning needs are somewhere in the light-duty realm, Ryobi has several solutions. I’m looking at Ryobi’s second iteration 40V battery-powered pressure washer to see how it compares and how it can help keep your outdoor spaces tidy.

Ryobi 40V Battery-Powered Pressure Washer Performance

Ryobi 40V Battery-Powered Pressure Washer
  • Model: Ryobi RY40HPPW12B
  • Max water pressure: 1200 PSI
  • Max water volume: 1.0 GPM
  • Runtime: up to 40 minutes with 40V 12.0Ah battery
  • Two power modes

The RY40HPPW12B pressure washer runs on a Ryobi 40V battery. It achieves top water pressure levels of 1200 PSI with a max volume of 1.0 GPM. PSI and GPM are important specs to consider when talking about pressure washers, and this model’s levels make it ideal for light-duty outdoor cleaning. While it won’t remove severely stuck-on dirt or grime like a stronger model will, you can still use it to clean cars, RVs, sidewalks, patio furniture, and more.

This unit features two power levels: High mode (1200 PSI) and Eco mode (900 PSI). Using a 12.0Ah battery (sold separately), you can get up to 40 minutes of runtime on Eco mode, and up to 30 minutes when you bump it up to High.

Ryobi 40V Battery-Powered Pressure Washer Design

Ryobi 40V Battery-Powered Pressure Washer
  • Dimensions: 16.3 x 14.6 x 17.2 inches
  • Weight: 18.6 pounds
  • Includes three nozzles
  • Onboard nozzle storage
  • 25-foot high-pressure hose
  • 10-inch siphon hose
  • Quick-connect nozzle coupler

This Ryobi battery-powered pressure washer is relatively lightweight, making it easy to transport around your work area. It weighs just 18.6 pounds as a bare unit, which is significantly lighter than Ryobi’s other 40V iteration, the 2000 PSI Whisper Series model, which weighs in at 33 pounds. However, that model produces more power, so this weight difference makes sense.

It’s worth noting that the RY40HPPW12B doesn’t have wheels or a telescoping handle as we saw in the larger 40V model, so you’d have to pick it up if you need to move it around as you clean. This isn’t a huge issue, as the decrease in weight makes it much easier to carry.

As we’d expect, this pressure washer includes several nozzles for a variety of cleaning applications. You get a turbo nozzle, a 15° nozzle, and a soap nozzle. There are also onboard storage slots for the nozzles.

Finally, on top of a standard water hose connection, this model features a 10-inch siphon hose that pulls water from any freshwater source if you’re not within reach of a hose.

Ryobi 40V Battery-Powered Pressure Washer Price

This pressure washer retails for $199 as a bare tool. There are currently no kit options, so make sure to pick up a battery or two if you’re not already on Ryobi’s 40V platform. Ryobi backs your purchase with a 5-year warranty.
