The old saying, “Don’t cry over spilled milk,” takes on a new meaning, especially when the Ryobi SwiftClean Spot Cleaner takes the work out of cleaning it up. We got our hands on this cordless tool to see how it could help keep your spaces spill-free both around the house and on the go.
Ryobi SwiftClean Spot Cleaner: Performance
With kids and pets at home, spills and messes are inevitable. Luckily, the Ryobi SwiftClean makes cleaning materials like car seats, upholstery, and carpets a lot easier. It delivers up to 17 CFM of airflow and 17 IOW (inches of water) of sealed suction. It also features an internally powered scrub brush that agitates and lifts debris.
You can expect to get up to 75 minutes of runtime on a full charge, which should be more than enough time for cleaning up everyday messes.
It’s important to note that this tool is best suited for fresh spill clean-ups. It’s not an ideal tool to clean up set-in stains, but more of a tool to prevent immediate messes from becoming set-in stains.
Ryobi SwiftClean Spot Cleaner: Design Notes
Since this is a handheld tool, a lightweight design is important. This spot cleaner clocks in at just under 5 pounds, which is reasonably manageable for maneuvering around your home or vehicle. Keep in mind, this is the weight of the bare tool, so you will see some extra weight depending on your choice of battery and the amount of liquid present in the machine.
The controls for this spot cleaner are simple and straightforward. You have the power button, the spray button to disperse cleaning solution onto your working surface, and the brush button, which controls the power scrub brush. All three buttons are located at the top of the tool for easy accessibility and visibility.
Ryobi also designed the PCL756B spot cleaner to be easy to clean and maintain. All of the clear components are dishwasher-safe up to 140°F, eliminating the need to clean them all by hand. These components include the intake nozzle, solution tank, and waste tank.
