Ridgid NXT Max Vacuum Accessories: Tools and Shoes

First, let’s go over some vernacular. Ridgid’s NXT vacuum accessory lineup is split into two categories: tools and shoes. Accessory Tools refer to the pieces that attach directly to the Ridgid vacuum hose and extension wands, such as crevice tools and car nozzles. The NXT Shoes attach to the and of the tools to help you dial in your cleaning capabilities even further.

Some Ridgid vacuums come with a selection of NXT accessories, but additional shoes and tools are sold separately, letting you build the exact configuration you need.

Ridgid has released several shoes for each tool, and we’re going to cover each option to see which ones should be in your arsenal.

Ridgid NXT Max Crevice Tool

The NXT Max Crevice Tool has a flat, tapered end that helps remove wet and dry debris from small crevices. This design concentrates the vacuum hose’s suction to a smaller area for finer detail cleaning.

Ridgid offers two shoes for this tool:

Hard Bristle Shoe: removes difficult debris between tight spaces
Soft Bristle Shoe: delicately cleans hard-to-reach areas

Ridgid NXT Max Floor Tool

The NXT Max Floor Tool features a wide, flat cleaning surface for clearing wet and dry debris from large areas. There are three shoes compatible with this tool, including:

Hard Bristle Shoe: agitates large areas, removing difficult debris on rough surfaces
Soft Bristle Shoe: delicately cleans large, finished, and carpeted surfaces
Wet Shoe: squeegees water away from hard surfaces
