Ridgid Takes Drywall Cutting to the Next Level
Ridgid released a sneak peek of what the brand has in store for us in 2020. And, while the brand continues to play coy about the details of many of the upcoming releases, we like to pass on what we do know. In this case, we’re intrigued by the cordless Ridgid drywall cut-out tool. Operating on the Ridgid 18V battery platform, this tool should dramatically speed up drywall installation with its ability to punch in and cut quickly.

What Can the 18V Ridgid Drywall Cut-out Tool Do for You?
Powered by the Ridgid 18V battery, the motor on this tool spins at a top speed of 28,000 RPM to punch in and cut quickly. The high speed works well on tools like this and keeps the bit from binding up easily.
The Ridgid drywall cut-out tool also includes an adjustable guide for depth control. It works easily—just drop the lever and move the notched depth guide in and out as needed. The design of the guide also leaves you with a high degree of visibility, letting you keep the bit from wandering off course when freehanding a cut.
This cut-out tool also has a tool-free collet lock and built-in collet wrench storage. Since it stays on the tool, you’re less likely to misplace it when adjusting or replacing your bits.
The Ridgid 18V drywall cut-out tool makes its way to Home Depot stores (as well as online) beginning July 2020. Like all of the tools in the Ridgid 18V cordless lineup, it comes with a Lifetime Service Agreement.
