When we visited TTI’s facility up in Anderson, South Carolina, one of the products we were most excited about was the new Ridgid 18V Air Compressor. As part of the Ridgid Gen5X line, this compressor runs on one or two 18V batteries powering a brushless motor. With two batteries, it runs at full capacity. But the cool thing is that you can drop down to just the one pack if you’re in a pinch. It’s a little slower, but you can wrap up the last part of the day without stopping to recharge both packs.

Ridgid 18V Cordless Air Compressor Features
When it comes to air delivery, you’re looking at 0.9 SCFM at 90 PSI coming from a 1-gallon tank that maxes out at 120 PSI. And it’s reasonably quiet at 77 decibels. That means you’ll be able to work in an occupied space without annoying folks quite as easily as you do with a standard electric compressor.
With this kind of output, it’s pretty clear that this keys in on trim nailer users that are working solo. So whether you’re a one-man crew, have some punch list work to wrap up, or even a DIYer, you can cut the cord on your compressor while still using your lightweight pneumatic trim nailers.
