RedMax EBZ9000 Backpack Blower

RedMax is owned by Husqvarna Group. Its small engine and outdoor power equipment lineage dates back to 1910 when it was part of the Tokyo Gas Kogyo family, which made 300 HP aircraft engines. The brand became RedMax in 1987 and joined Husqvarna’s portfolio in 2007. Long story short, RedMax has been there, done that, and is still doing it with gear like the EBZ9000 Backpack Blower.

Here’s a closer look at what this model has to offer.

RedMax EBZ9000 Backpack Blower Performance and Design

At the heart of this beast is a 78cc engine that delivers impressive blowing forces of 1,245 CFM, 216 MPH, and 56 Newtons! Certainly, these are FEMA-worthy numbers.

Editor’s Note: Check out our article on CFM vs MPH vs Newton force to see how volume, speed, and force differ and are calculated.

Yet, in spite of the engine’s power, RedMax says that the EBZ9000 yields 25% longer runtimes than competing backpack blowers. That is, in part, due to the tool’s large 91.3 oz fuel tank. This model also utilizes Husqvarna’s proprietary X-Torq technology, which delivers more torque at lower RPM. It actually uses 20% less fuel because the cylinders are flushed with clean air—not an air/fuel mixture. It has the added benefit of running cooler and even reducing that 2-cycle exhaust smell!

In terms of task suitability, there probably isn’t much the RedMax EBZ9000 backpack blower can’t handle. After all, this unit checks all the boxes under the “power” heading. You’ve got tremendous air volume, which should allow you to move more leaves and material with each pass. You also have the brute force necessary to dislodge and move heavy, wet, or otherwise stubborn debris.
