Manufacturers are pushing the boundaries of runtime, max output, and overall usability. Now, we’re turning our attention to the Olight Warrior X 4 flashlight to see what it has to offer!

Output
The Olight Warrior X 4 has a peak output of 2,600 lumens and throws that light up to 630 meters. The single LED produces cool white light between 5,700 and 6,700K with a CRI of 70 and a peak intensity of 99,310 candela.
Modes
This light has four modes to choose from. There’s High, Low, Medium, and Strobe. Why did I order them like this? I’m glad you asked! The Warrior X 4 is equipped with a Regular Mode and a Tactical Mode, so there is a slight learning curve to understand the controls.
For Regular mode, one light tap activates/deactivates the Low mode, while a full press lets you access High mode. When on Low, light tap will let you jump to High.
To access Tactical Mode, turn the light on and slowly unscrew the magnetic tail switch until the light turns off. Then, immediately tighten the switch—the light is now is Tactical mode. One light tap activates Medium mode, and a full press activates the Strobe feature.
Runtime
When it comes to runtime, it’s not long at max output, but the 5000mAh battery extends significantly based on the output you use. Due to the high power output, this light will automatically step down the lumens in order to manage heat and protect the battery. This leads to some slightly complicated runtime estimates.

Your actual results may vary depending on the ambient temperature and humidity, so it’s tough to nail down exact estimates with this kind of light. However, these are tested based on the ANSI/NEMA FL1-2009 standards, not some random test.
So why not just give normal runtime estimates? Well, that’s the intelligence of Olight’s heat management system. As the temperature rises, the light steps down the output before causing damage to the battery. With that said, this light generates significant heat around the bezel, so be mindful of your hands so you don’t hurt yourself.

Size and Weight
The Warrior X 4 features an aluminum alloy body and a durable stainless steel strike bezel and tail switch that give it a rugged look. It weighs in at just 9 ounces and measures 5.87 inches from tip to tail.
When it comes to external durability, it has a 2-meter drop rating and a stainless steel strike bevel for self-defense and as a car emergency tool. Lastly, the body is covered with a Type III hard-anodized finish to help prevent corrosion and reduce wear and tear.
Olight’s design earns it an IPX8 ingress rating, meaning that it’s waterproof in fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.
Charging
You actually have two options when it comes to charging this light. Olight includes a standard USB Type-C cord, but it’s also compatible with their magnetic MCC charging cable. This cable attaches directly to the magnetic tail cap for tangle free charging.
One upgrade Olight added to the Warrior X 4 is the tri-color battery indicator to go along with the vibrating battery indicator.

The Bottom Line

While its top-end output level is useful in short bursts, I find myself predominantly utilizing the medium and low output settings. Nevertheless, I like having the high output options to use for non-lethal defense, signaling, or simply filling a room with light.
