The Triplett CobraCam Pro 8125 is being introduced this April with some features that will be sure to please contractors in need of an inspection camera. The camera itself is 8 mm in diameter and water resistant all the way up to the main unit. Four LED lights illuminate dark spaces and are also adjustable so no matter how much light is getting in, you’ll get a clear picture. The camera includes a 4x digital zoom to get a closer look around those tight spaces. The included camera wand is 3.25 feet long and users can add extensions up to 100 feet without loss of resolution!
As for the main unit (and this is my favorite feature), the screen of the Triplett CobraCam Pro is removable and magnetic, so users can attach the monitor at a level that is easy to see instead of acting as a contortionist in order to see what is displayed. The video capability is pretty diverse as well. Owners have the option of using the video out capability to send the image to a TV. Images can be captured as a still shot, or recorded as video using the memory card or DVR.
The 3.5″ display is on par with other detachable monitor systems out there. While the MSRP of $259.97 is more than most basic inspection cameras out there, it is one the least expensive that includes the detachable display. Triplett planned the official launch of the 8125 for April 2-4 at ISC West, so we should see them hitting store shelves soon.
