We like to keep builders up on new products of interest, and Trex just expanded three of its decking and railing product lines: Transcend, Select and Reveal. They have three different looks, three different markets, and three completely different applications. Which one you may be interested in will depend upon your projects, your location and your (or your client’s) budget.
Trex Transcend
The Transcend collection now has a contemporary railing option – Trex Transcend Beveled Railing. The new design has a new hand and bottom rail shape, and was designed to address regional architectural and style preferences – particularly to suit the needs of the West Coast. It’s beveled railing also works with existing Trex Transcend railing post sleeves, skirts, caps and baluster options, and is available in seven colors.
Trex Select
Trex Select is designed for more DIY consumers and has a lot of design flexibility at an affordable price point. Of the new models, Select is the more Plain Jane of your options, but it features nice crown-style caps and bases and a very flexible installation method for customizing to any shape or size deck.
Trex Select decking is manufactured of 95% recycled content, including reclaimed wood, sawdust and plastics, while the Select railing is made from Fibrex, a material that contains 40% reclaimed wood fiber by weight.
You can get the Select decking in Madeira (a redwood look), Winchester Grey (a rich and versatile grey), Saddle (a light brown) and Woodland Brown (a deep, earthy shade). Deck boards are offered in 12′, 16′ and 20′ lengths and coordinating fascia also is available in 1″x8″ and 1″x12″ sizes.
Trex Reveal
Trex Reveal is a new product that incorporates aluminum railing which is excellent for highlighting a beautiful view. Trex Reveal allows the company to access the aluminum railing market which is pretty significant. Reveal is available in three colors: Charcoal Black, Bronze and Classic White. It also offers two post options (matching 2″x2″ slender aluminum posts or high-performance composite post sleeves) and two baluster choices (round and square).
Trex Railing is backed by a 25-year Limited Residential Warranty. For more information about Trex products, visit trex.com.
