The new Milwaukee M18 Fuel SDS-Max rotary hammer is the brand’s most powerful cordless model to date. They’re moving up the food chain thanks to their Next Breakthrough in the M18 Fuel line.
The High Output series of RedLithium batteries, highlighted by the 12.0 Ah pack, gives Milwaukee the ability to go after large-frame brushless motors and design more powerful tools.

The Milwaukee 2718 produces 8.1 foot-pounds of impact energy to go along with 380 RPM and 2900 BPM. That’s nearly 60% more impact energy than Milwaukee’s 2717 M18 Fuel SDS-Max rotary hammer.
The system boasts an impressive feature set with soft start, lock on, and anti-vibration design. What really helps it stand out is the addition of an e-clutch and One-Key. The e-clutch electronically limits the hammer to 45° of rotation in the event that the bit binds up. One-Key gives you tracking, inventory management, and security functions.

What Milwaukee Says
“Despite the growth of cordless rotary hammer solutions on the jobsite, there remain a wide array of larger capacity tasks that require the use of 1-3/4” rotary hammers. Unfortunately, because the larger cordless solutions available lack the capacity and speed needed for these applications, users continue to turn to their corded units. Due to the vast advantages of M18 FUEL cordless technology, we’re able to change all of that with the best performing rotary hammer in our company’s history, which not only boasts the benefits of no cords or generators but also drills faster than corded.”
– Kevin Gee, Senior Product Manager for Milwaukee Tool
