Promising new levels of performance, the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL High Torque Impact Wrench Series promises big things. We are told that these are the first cordless impact wrenches that can deliver true pneumatic performance without a compressor and hose. No cords, hoses, or compressors but I still get that kind of power? I certainly like the sound of that!
What exactly are the folks at Milwaukee claiming as “new levels of performance” in this series of cordless impact wrenches? Depending on the model, the M18 FUEL High Torque Impact Wrenches deliver up to 750 foot-pounds max fastening torque and 1200 foot-pounds max nut-busting torque. Mike Monteleone, Product Manager, tells us that “Traditionally, users facing repetitive high torque fastening applications have needed to resort to corded or pneumatic impact wrenches due to run-time and power challenges. With the combination of M18 FUEL technology and an optimized impact mechanism, these new tools can challenge all cordless, corded, and even pneumatic competitors.” That sounds like a good excuse to set up a multi-power source test and see if we can validate that statement.
Users have the option of 4 models in the new line. Model 2762-22 is a 1/2 inch kit with pin, model 2763-22 is a 1/2 inch kit with ring, model 2764-22 is a 3/4 inch kit with ring and is the most powerful of the line, and model kit 2765-22 is a 7/16 inch hex. Each model has its own unique specs for meeting various requirements.
