Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation recently updated its Test & Measurement line with fourteen new models. While the tools have not changed in either form or function, the new versions do include an NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) certificate of calibration with data that lists the accuracy of each measurement function, the date when it was calibrated and when it should be calibrated again. This information is needed by many businesses and organizations who want to hold to reputable accredited standards, like ISO, with the important goal of improving safety and measurement accuracy.
“After the launch of the Test & Measurement business in 2009, we received excellent feedback from users that led to this service. We have already been performing NIST calibrations and generating certificates as an aftermarket service, but due to customer feedback we will now offer a complete tool with NIST certificate of calibration at the outset.”
– Jon Morrow, Director of Test & Measurement for Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation
Milwaukee NIST Certification Program
The NIST Certificate of Calibration will provide crucial information to users who comply with ISO requirements and can be used to prove the quality of the product. The certificate of calibration for the product and its subsequent measurements are traceable to internationally defined measurement units, establishing traceability. This is accomplished by a formal comparison to a standard which is directly related to national standards (NIST) and to the equipment that performed the calibration.
Milwaukee Electric Tool now offers NIST certification for both alkaline and M12 Test & Measurement products and will continue to expand the line of NIST certified products moving forward.
