Hyundai Motor and Robert Bosch have just signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop vehicle powertrain electronic-control technology and infotainment systems. The Hyundai and Bosch Powertrains alliance aims to accelerate development of new powertrains and produce new IT products based on Hyundai technology and Bosch platforms. Hyundai R&D center vice chairman Hyun-Soon Lee said the alliance between leading automotive brands Hyundai Motor Group and Robert Bosch means an exciting future for their infotainment systems and their powertrains.
Hyundai and Bosch Powertrains Partnership
The company said that Bosch has already been a two-decade partner with them in engine development. Hyundai Motor has recently started production of the Solaris sedan at its assembly plant in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which is its sixth overseas assembly plant.
Hundai, which has six manufacturing bases outside of South Korea, sold 3.6 million vehicles globally in 2010.
