There seems to be a new trend in oscillating multi-tools, and we LOVE it. Bosch released their universal oscillating tool adapter last month, and Dremel, a sister company, has followed suit with their own MM300 Multi-Max Universal Adapter. Why is this good? First off, Dremel accessories are among the most prevalent and easily accessible products in home improvement warehouses. With the new Multi-Max Universal Adapter owners of other oscillating tool brands can now use genuine Dremel brand oscillating accessories on their tool.
That means no more pulling your hair out to get a blade or accessory for your multi-tool. The 1-3/16″ wide one-sided adapter allows Multi-Max accessories (excluding Multi-Flex) to fit all current oscillating tools from Fein, Rockwell, Bosch, Craftsman, Ridgid, and more. It seems to be a bit less universal then Bosch’s version, but since it hits the major models it’s not really an issue.
We were initially disappointed to find that the Bosch OIS adapter allowed their accessories to fit other tools, but not allow their tool to adapt to other accessories… then we woke up and realized that this was a device to sell accessories, not Multi-X tools. With that said, we now have Bosch, Dremel, and soon Milwaukee ho will have universal adapters. Even Rockwell includes an adapter and the new product we are texting from Cell gives you one that is truly univeral as well. Given this, it won’t be long before you will be able to use any accessory on the market with any tool.
Already available in Amazon.com, the new Dremel MM300 Universal Adapter is available for just $4.99.
