DeWalt added a new major announcement for the metal-cutters out there. The company is introducing a new line of DeWalt 2X Longer Life Reciprocating Saw Blades that feature a wider, thicker design. In fact, the thickness is around 0.042″ and should help alleviate bending and breakage. The overall construction of the blade is designed for durability and the innovative blade preparation and coating process is said to increase life by up to twice that of the former yellow DeWalt blades.

In the video (embedded below) they test it out on black pipe, rebar and even angle iron – all tough metals to get through. In a side-by-side test, DeWalt claims the new 2X Longer Life Recip Blades will cut through 1018 steel 2X longer than when using the Lenox 118R Lazer series blade.
The DeWalt 2X Longer Life Reciprocating Saw Blades are a full 1″ tall and a variable pitch design also contributes to a more efficient
cutting performance. The blades feature 14/18 TPI (teeth per inch) and the new color scheme ain’t that shabby either.
The new 2X Longer Life Reciprocating Saw Blades are available now online in 6″, 8″ and 12″ lengths at DeWalt dealers and retailers.
