If you think a dust extraction system is all you need for a clean shop, you’re missing an important component. Delta Power Equipment Corp. introduced its new 3-Speed Ambient Air Cleaner, Model 50-871 at the 2012 IWF. The Delta 50-871 3-Speed Ambient Air Cleaner is designed to have the highest airflow for an air cleaner in its class and operates at 3-speeds (540, 730, and 1200 CFM). The design is such that an inner filter captures all particles larger than 1 Micron. A digital readout displays the status and also alerts the user when the filter needs to be changed so you keep the Air Cleaner running at its peak optimal potential.
Delta 50-871 3-Speed Ambient Air Cleaner Features
When set to 1200 CFM, it’s max cleaning mode, the 50-871 Air Cleaner recycles all the air in a 20′ x 20′ x 8′ room about 22 times per hour. It includes a remote control so you can turn the unit on and off and also adjust the speed and timer when the unit is mounted on the ceiling or located in an otherwise unreachable area. The aforementioned timer can be configured to run for 1/2 hour to 15 hours, depending upon the amount of Air Cleaning you want accomplished. After the timer runs its course, the unto then turns itself off. This would be a great machine to have in your shop alongside your Delta Unisaw table saw.
The unit has a 1/5 HP single phase motor and comes with 4 eye bolts and flange nuts for ceiling suspension. It also includes 4 rubber feet, a 6 foot power cord, 1 outer pleated filter, 1 inner filter and a remote control (2 x AAA batteries not included, oddly enough). Available accessories include a two-pack of pleated filters, the inner filter and an electrostatic filter.
