Crescent has come out with a unique new multi-tool aimed at DIY enthusiasts in the CMTS4 Switchblade. The Switchblade features a base handle with four interchangeable heads. The serrated blade head is great for cutting through rope and shingles. It also includes a bottle opener and wire cutter/bender. The straight blade head has applications on metal duct work, gutters, and aluminum siding. The cable cutting head functions to cut wire. Finally, a standard plier head has large and small gripping teeth along with an integrated wire cutter. The company is on a roll as we are impressed with their Crescent Connect Modular Clamp System.
The heads are coated to prevent rust and corrosion. Dual material grips and one hand lock operation help to ensure comfortable and easy use. The Switchblade is designed to make head changes quick and features compound action that increases the force applied by your hands.
The Switchblade can be purchased directly from Crescent for $33.95, but be aware that it is an imported item and may take a few weeks to arrive. An internet search found that it isn’t widely available yet, so direct from Crescent or through Amazon are likely your best bets to get your hands on one.
