Milwaukee Adds Two Updated Cordless Die Grinders To M18 Fuel Lineup For 2023
When it comes to die grinders, there are several brands that offer cordless solutions as opposed to the pneumatic and cordless versions that still have their places in shops and on jobsites. Milwaukee already has several cordless die grinders available, both on the M12 and M18 systems. However, the brand added two new Milwaukee M18 Fuel Die Grinder options to the lineup and we’re looking more closely to see how much they improve upon past models.
Next-Gen Milwaukee M18 Fuel Die Grinder: The Big Deal
For 2023, Milwaukee is adding two more cordless die grinder models to the M18 Fuel platform. They provide the same performance as 11A corded tools but without the hassle of hoses, cords, or compressors. Milwaukee added the M18 Fuel 1/4-inch Die Grinder to the lineup way back in 2017, so these new models are an update a long time in the making.
Both models feature Milwaukee’s RapidStop braking system, which stops most wheels in under two seconds for added safety.
Most of the differences between the two new models lie in the power switches, although the tools do differ in their capabilities and performance too. One has a paddle-style switch, and the other has a slide switch with a lock-on design.
Obviously, every Pro has their own preference, so we’ll go over both models in more detail.
Milwaukee Paddle Switch Die Grinder 2984-20
The Milwaukee 2984-20 die grinder has a paddle switch design that lets you easily control the amount of material you’re removing. It features a variable speed dial with five settings (8,000, 11,000, 14,000, 17,000, and 20,000 RPM) so you can match the speed to the application at hand.
Milwaukee tells us you can deburr up to 35 pipes per charge when you use an M18 RedLithium XC5.0 battery, and an LED light helps you work in low-light areas.
This tool is also compatible with up to 2-inch accessories for cutting wheels, and 3-inch accessories for sanding. It’s equipped with a spindle lock for one-tool accessory change.
Another draw to this tool is its One-Key compatibility. This connectivity platform provides the ability to track alerts, complete inventory management, and monitor your tool through the One-Key app.
