Versatile Milwaukee Compact Vacuum Features Two-Stage Debris Separation
For small areas and spot cleaning, Milwaukee has introduced the M18 Fuel Compact Vacuum (model 0940-20). Milwaukee tells us that this vacuum delivers up to 50% more sustained suction than other cordless compact vacuums currently on the market. With a unique two-stage debris separation and including five dedicated attachments, this vacuum tackles just about any vacuuming application on the jobsite. It seems like a marked, and more capable improvement over the former Milwaukee 0882-20 M18 compact vacuum.

Milwaukee Compact Vacuum Features
The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Compact Vacuum features a brushless motor that excels at dry spot and small area cleaning. It generates 32 CFM and 80 inches of sealed water lift.
It also features Milwaukee’s proprietary two-stage debris separation, which divides small and large debris particles within the 1/4-gallon canister before it hits the washable HEPA filter and foam prefilter. This process helps with sustained suction so that you don’t spend time making multiple passes.
We can’t stress the importance of two-stage filtering—it really helps vacuums keep up suction and lets them work unit you actually fill the capacity of the tank. Compare that to other vacuums where the tank isn’t nearly full—but a quickly-clogged filter drops suction down to almost nothing.
The Milwaukee 0940-20 vacuum offers lots of versatility (perhaps too much?) by including 5 different attachments. You get the following attachments to help tackling a wide range of environments at ground level, waist level, and overhead:
- Powered floor tool
- Smooth floor tool
- Crevice tool
- Brush tool
- Utility tool
Finally, a flexible hose and extension accessory also lets you take the nozzle to where the action is.
The M18 Compact Vac also has two speeds available so you can prioritize either power or runtime. With a 5.0Ah battery attached, the 0940-20 can run for up to 18 minutes in High or 28 minutes in Low mode.
