Milwaukee M18 Fuel 4 1/2-inch to 6-inch Braking Grinder

I was out at Milwaukee’s headquarters in June for the annual Pipeline event, and there was a heck for a lot happening. More to the point, there was an enormous amount to see – a testament to just how busy their teams have been. Among the many tools in the Milwaukee fleet is the M18 Fuel 4.5- to 6-inch Braking Grinder (3670).

Especially for you safety fanatics, this model might be the one you’ve been looking for.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Braking Grinder Performance

If you’re new to grinders, you might be wondering how a standard model differs from a braking variant. It’s mainly a matter of safety.

Simply put, when something goes wrong, such as kickback, the tool automatically shuts off (hence “braking”). A unit like Milwaukee’s braking grinder has a lot of torque. So, if it grabs the material (or becomes stuck), it can fly out of your hands, injuring you or someone else.

Having an automatic shutoff feature like the 3670-20’s can help prevent that.

The 3670-20 has several design facets worth mentioning.

For one, the paddle switch features a no-lock design. This will boost comfort and make the tool easier to use in awkward positions. And speaking of ease, you also have the added convenience of toolless accessory changes.

Furthermore, Milwaukee kept durability in mind, giving the M18 Fuel braking grinder a metal housing and gearing.
