Milwaukee Helps You Cheat Your Way to Plumbing Success
In 2016, we saw the first Milwaukee Cheater pipe wrench hit the industry. Five years down the line, the new Milwaukee aluminum Cheater adaptable pipe wrench builds off of that original model. It features a brand-new, all-in-one design and quick-slide handle that can be adjusted to the user’s desired length. All told, Milwaukee has over two dozen pipe wrenches in their lineup—including both steel and aluminum models.
What’s the Big Deal?
The new Milwaukee Cheater Aluminum pipe wrench has a multi-length, quick-slide handle. With the handle removed, you get a short 11” pipe wrench. Add the handle and extend it to the first position, and you have an 18” wrench. Fully extended, you get the leverage of a 24” aluminum pipe wrench.
It also features an overbite hook jaw offering a rather large grip surface. Dual coil springs go against either side of the spring plate bracket in what looks to be a very durable design.
Milwaukee Tool integrated a lanyard hole into the back of the extendible handle, making it tether-ready right out of the packaging. The 2.5” jaw capacity and longer spine on the tool also work together to increase how much work you can do as well as the capacity of this wrench.
Our Take
We like anything that reduces the number of tools you need to bring to the jobsite. With the adaptability that the Milwaukee Aluminum Cheater offers, you should be in good shape to face anything the jobsite throws at you.
Expect the Milwaukee Aluminum Cheater Pipe Wrench to run you about $120 when it hits shelves in the Summer of 2021.
