Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt 7 1/4-inch Circular Saw

Metabo HPT’s Third-Generation Circular Saw Delivers High Performance

Metabo HPT’s MultiVolt system consists of a variety of pro-targeted core tools. The most recent circular saw added to the lineup is the third-generation C3607DB, which promises higher performance than its predecessors. Aptly named, “The Stud,” we’re looking at this Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Circular Saw to see how it improves upon the formula and if you should add it to your workbench.

Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Circular Saw Performance

Metabo HPT Circular Saw
  • Model: Metabo HPT C3607DB
  • Brushless motor
  • 55° bevel capacity
  • Max speed: 6000 RPM
  • High-Torque mode
  • Max cut depth:
    • 90°: 2-7/16-inch
    • 45°: 1-7/8-inch
    • 55°: 1-8/16-inch

As mentioned, the Metabo HPT C3607DB is the brand’s third iteration circular saw on the MultiVolt platform. Previous versions include the C3607DAQ4, which we reviewed when it released in 2019, and the rear-handle C3607DWA circular saw, which we got our hands on in 2022.

According to Metabo HPT, the newest version brings upgraded performance, with up to 25% faster speeds and 40% more torque than its predecessor. This is thanks to the Torque Boost mode, which was designed for cutting thicker, denser materials.

In standard mode, this saw’s brushless motor delivers a maximum no-load speed of 6,000 RPM. In Torque Boost mode, the speeds top out at 4,300 RPM to account for the higher torque levels.

Finally, for cut capacities, it reaches 2-7/16-inch at 90°, 1-7/8-inch at 45°, and 1-8/16-inch at 55°.

Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Circular Saw Design

Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Circular Saw
  • Weight: 7.9 pounds (bare)
  • Length: 13.2 inches
  • Blade-right design
  • Soft-grip handle
  • Accepts MultiVolt battery or AC adapter (sold separately)

This saw has a lightweight design, weighing just 7.9 pounds bare. An aluminum base plate helps reduce the overall weight while still maintaining durability.

Like the previous top-handle model, the C3607DB features a blade-right design. It also has a soft handle for user comfort, and Metabo HPT tells us the handle is larger to allow for an easier grip and better handling.

Finally, this tool can be powered by either a MultiVolt battery, or you can use an AC adapter (sold separately) for all-day runtime.

Additional Features

  • Rafter hook for jobsite storage
  • LED light
