The Metabo HPT SB3608DA has a pretty traditional look that doesn’t stray too far from their corded model. The main handle and front pommel grip are draped with a textured rubber overmold to help maintain a secure hold while sanding sheet goods.
To keep things user-friendly, Metabo HPT opted to go with a tool-free belt change system. Simply slide the tensioner lever out 90 degrees away from the tool body to remove and replace your 3×21-inch sanding belt.
Adjusting the belt tracking is very straightforward. Simply turn the dial on the front to make minute adjustments to help keep the belt centered on the rollers.
The Metabo HPT belt sander includes an effective dust collection system, too. The rear-facing dust port is compatible with their dust collection bag as well as the included vacuum hose adapter. This affords you a few options to collect dust and maintain a cleaner work area.
