Makita unveils its newest brush cutter in the XGT lineup
In terms of aggressive product development, Makita is hitting on all cylinders this year. It seems like they’re unveiling something new on a weekly basis. And this goes for general contracting tools and outdoor power equipment. Regarding the latter, Makita recently announced that the GRU06T brush cutter will join the quickly expanding XGT lineup.

Driving this brush cutter is a formidable duo: a brushless motor and a 40V (5.0Ah) lithium-ion battery. According to Makita, the two deliver an output comparable to a 35cc engine. That’s not bad considering that heavy-duty models are generally somewhere within the 40 to 55cc range.
Now, when it comes to tools like brush cutters, control is very important, and this unit is no exception. That’s why you’ve got the variable speed trigger and cruise control. Specifically, this will give you plenty of room for fine-tuning power and, ultimately, manipulating runtime.
