We cover a lot from Stanley Black & Decker, but one of its other family companies, Mac Tools, just came out with something pretty cool this week. Mac Tools introduced a Cordless Rubberized LED Worklight (model TL98268). It may not be as prolific as the Mac Tools smartphone app diagnostic tool, but the Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight is designed to be both versatile and durable – two features that are pretty important in a workshop or garage environment. It features a polycarbonate casing with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) textured coating finish. This outer coating is a sort of rubberized coating that gives the flashlight good grip as well as protection from falls. Of course, while that’s impressive, Mac Tools also made the new LED Work Light water resistant – the switch is 100% sealed from water, dirt and dust. Of course, all of this is backed up with an IP54 rating.
Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight Features
The Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight TL98268 output around 200 lumens of maximum light and the magnetic base lets you attach the TL98268 to a hood or steel stud or beam for hands-free illumination of the work area. But the versatility comes in in that the light is both a floodlight and a flashlight. The floodlight mode uses three 1W LEDs that operate in two modes, 200 lumens in High and 100 lumens in Low. The Worklight mode delivers approximately three hours of run time in High output mode.
The Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight’s high output flashlight beam is generated by a single 1W 65 lumen LED and has approximately eight hours of run time. The two switches on the unit itself let you flip between flood worklight low, flood worklight high and flashlight (which is a straight on/off). Here are how the run times break down:
- Flood worklight Low: 3.5 hours
- Flood worklight High: 2 hours
- Flashlight beam: 7 hours
The Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight includes two (2) 3.6V rechargeable Li-ion battery packs, a wall charger, a 12V power outlet charger.
