Last Spring, I was out at the Husqvarna headquarters in North Carolina and saw a lot of impressive gear. That included both gas and battery platforms. Among the tools that the company’s egineers were particularly excited about were automowers. Indeed, we’re moving into an age of intelligent automation, and lawncare is becoming well-fixed within that realm. In the field, I watched as their robotics team demonstrated a range of models, from residential robots to those fit for stadium athletic fields. Recently, Husqvarna added to their automower fleet with the EPOS-equipped 520H.
Let’s take a look at this new addition to see what it can do. Maybe it’s just what you’re looking for.
Husqvarna Automower 520H EPOS Performance
Before we get into features and the mechanical specifics, it’s important that we hit on the issue of cutting capacity. This is especially significant with automowers as their capabilities expand.
In this case, Husqvarna tells us that the 520H ideally can handle 1.25 acres, which isn’t bad for a model that qualifies as a light-duty commercial automower. To put this into some level of context, a box store like Lowe’s currently sells the 430 series, which is the only group of mowers on their shelves that can tackle anything close – around 1 acre.
In addition to covering a fairly large yard, the 520H also has Husqvarna’s proprietary EPOS, or Exact Positioning Operating System. If you’re not already familiar with it, this technology allows for wireless boundaries. And, believe me, this eliminates a lot of hassel.

Now, having a robotic automower is nice as it is, however, the Husqvarna 520H makes it even nicer. This model enables you to select mowing patterns for a manicurred look.
Finally, the 520H has a 5-blade cutting disc with enhanced HSS (high-speed steel) blades. Moreover, this comes standard.
Husqvarna Automower 520H Design
In terms of design, Husqvarna incorporated several features worth noting.
First, it has a built-in safety system. Moreover, it has LED lights and an IPX4 rating. Additionally, Husqvarna designed the 520H to manage multiple work areas with unique schedules, cutting hights, and, as I mentioned earlier, mowing patterns.
Husqvarna 520H Price
Husqvarna priced the Automower 520H at $3,299.99. However, that does not include the $899 reference station.
