I hate mowing the grass. Some say it’s relaxing and soothing, even. For me, it’s a necessary evil – and part of the homeowner process that I’d just as soon see gone forever. Somebody at Husqvarna obviously agrees because they invented the Automower 305. The Husqvarna Automower 305 Robotic Lawnmower is literally a robotic lawnmower – the company’s third, in fact. It is silent. It’s automatic. And it’s designed to give homeowners a perfectly cut, trouble-free lawn. While its not for those living on an acre of land, the mower is perfect (and designed) for people responsible for around 5000 square feet or less of lawn area. The tool cuts with the power of lithium-ion, and since it is quiet, it can cut at any time of day or night without worry.
Husqvarna Automower 305 Robotic Lawnmower Features
The robotic Automower 305 weighs about 15.5 lbs. This does two things – one, it makes it so that the mower doesn’t crush the grass when it cuts, and second, it makes the machine easily portable (for example, moving it from the front yard to the back). Husqvarna also added its Anti Theft System that is standard on all of its robotic lawn mowers. The ATS comes with an audible alarm and even a personal PIN code that renders the Automower 305 disabled in the event that it’s stolen (of course, the thief probably doesn’t know this, so perhaps a GPS tracking device would have been more useful).
It’s certainly Husqvarna’s hope that robotic lawnmowers become the norm for smaller lawns… in my opinion, I don’t see why not. As technology advances, and parts costs come down, automated lawn maintenance only makes sense… of course so does genetically modified grass that simply grows to a certain height and stops… but I digress.
For those concerned about green technology, the Automower 305 cuts without any emissions, actually using less energy than a typical light bulb. The only downside, then, is that it costs an astronomical amount of money to bring home – around $2,400. So, in conclusion… this is a product for very lazy… very rich people. Well, they had me on the first one.
