Having already reviewed the Hoover Air Cordless vacuum and the Hoover Cordless Lift, we were surprised when they suddenly announced a new battery platform. It was even more surprising when we saw the line included blowers and shop vacs! Hoover seems to be leveraging their brand and market position to provide a myriad of cleaning solutions. The Hoover ONEPWR cordless vacuums include 7 new models, plus 2 blowers and an LED light. We got our hands on three of the new products and all share the same ONEPWR 20V battery platform.
Hoover ONEPWR Vacuums Overview
The Hoover Air system moved its vacuuming products into the cordless world. The Hoover ONEPWR platform seems to redefine everything into a single platform for longer run-times and more flexible cleaning solutions. Here’s a quick overview of their products:
ONEPWR Blade+ and Blade MAX Cordless Vacuums
These two products are identical, except that you pay an additional $150 to upgrade the Blade MAX to a 4Ah battery pack and add a motorized pet brush. This battery-powered vacuum allows you to vacuum while standing or converts to a handheld canister for cleaning furniture and stairs. It features the same convenient handle controls and uses a removable dirt cup that empties easily.
We used this vacuum extensively in a residential space. It makes it very simple to switch from cleaning carpeted floors to hard surfaces and even stairs. The versatility of this system is impressive.
At first glance, we thought the Blade+ would be a bit top-heavy and heavy to use. As it turns out, the weight balances nicely, and ever our kids used the vacuum weekly without complaint (or difficulty)…OK, without too much complaint!

ONEPWR FloorMate JET Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner
The ONEPWR FloorMate JET Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner takes a lot of cues from the Floormate. it brings the simplicity of squeezing a trigger on the handle to spray a cleaning solution onto the floor. This dislodges sticky dirt, letting you vacuum it into the tank to be emptied later. The original Hoover FloorMate Cordless had a handle that flipped back for easy storage. I wish the current model did that—we could then store it underneath our workbenches. As it stands now, the closet makes the most sense for putting up this vacuum.

Spotless GO BH12001 Cordless Portable Carpet Cleaner
The Hoover ONEPWR Spotless GO Cordless Portable Carpet Cleaner removes the need for a large carpet cleaning solution. For spot stains, you just grab this cordless vac and work cleaning a single area. It has the portability and functionality to score a huge win for consumers looking to tackle pet and “rugrat” stains.

BH57105 Wet/Dry Cordless Utility Vacuum
The Hoover ONEPWR High-Capacity Wet/Dry Utility Vacuum actually tops the capacity and specs of several power tool manufacturer models. This utility vac has a 3-gallon capacity and 45 CFM of suction. The onboard accessory kit looks like it should handle the most common portable clean-up tasks.

For larger pickup needs, the Hoover ONEPWR High-Capacity wet/dry utility vacuum gives you 6 gallons of storage and upgrades the battery to 4Ah. This should deliver more power (up to 65 CFM) and longer run-time.

BH57005 ONEPWR Cordless Hand Vacuum
Hoover’s ONEPWR Cordless Hand Vacuum should look familiar. It’s “Dustbuster” format works well as a grab-and-go tool for picking up small dry spills. This vac works as you’d expect. The canister is super-east to empty, yet it holds a good amount of material so you can get a job done without having to empty it until the end. I use it on the vehicles as well as whenever we need a quick cleanup underneath the dining room table.

Using the Hoover ONEPWR Cordless Vacuums
We didn’t review every one of the Hoover ONEPWR cordless vacuums, but we did get our hands on three models. Of those, we found the Hoover ONEPWR FloorMate JET Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner to solve a real problem in our office. Since we frequent the shop testing tools, dirt gets tracked into the connected office quite frequently. Something like the Hoover ONEPWR Blade+ cordless vacuum certainly tackles the dry dirt well. For dried mud, however, it leaves it stuck to the floor. Enter the ONEPWR FloorMate JET Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner. With this system, we simply squeeze the trigger on the handle, and it squirts out a bit of cleaner. Running over it and the ground-in dirt removes it quickly from the floor.
The vacuum works very similarly to the now-discontinued cordless Hoover FloorMate Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner. The difference lies mainly with the almost self-cleaning nature of the new model. That, and the new battery platform.
It sure beats our old method of Swiffering and/or using a wet paper towel. That system has onboard storage for both the wet cleaning solution and the dirt collection. Once you fill the debris canister (wet or dry) to the fill line, you empty it out and run the system through a cleaning process. This involves pouring a set amount of liquid into the rinse & storage tray and running the vacuum through several short cycles. Then you empty the debris tank and let the roller air dry.

Conclusion
All three of the Hoover ONEPWR vacuums we tested performed very well. About the only hangup would be the lack of backward-compatibility. For anyone who bought into the Hoover Cordless Air platform, you no longer have current models that use that battery system. The new batteries are solid—and they actually deliver better run-time. Given that any Li-ion battery only lasts around 2-3 years before becoming less-than-idea or even unusable, this might not be a difficult upgrade path.
We can easily recommend these new vacuums. The most difficult part involves deciding which model(s) to choose. If you have hard surfaces, the FloorMate Jet Cordless makes a pretty strong case.
