Hilti WMS-100 Water Management System

Hilti took the opportunity to show off a bit at this year’s World of Concrete event in January. Now, we don’t often give out “gold stars” around here, but apparently, Clint, Kenny, and Tim came back pretty impressed with Hilti. This year, the Hilti WMS-100 Water Management System blew our socks off well enough that we’re willing to go ahead and grant that this was the most impressive tool we saw at the show.

This new water management system, which looks similar to a typical dust extractor attached to a hose and shroud, allows a core drill to recycle 4 gallons of water repeatedly. It filters the slurry, trapping the concrete dust and allowing the water to pass through to be used again. The shroud collects the slurry and contains the mess while the hose returns it all for separation and reuse. In the end, you can get roughly 30 gallons worth of work done with the 4-ish gallons you started with.

As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words, so considering how many frames make up our video, it’s probably a lot better at helping you see what I’m talking – well, writing – about. Regardless, if you have core drilling to do, this is a system you want to know about.
