Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower Review

Greenworks 80V Pro Leaf Blower

The Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower Is Their Strongest Handheld Model Yet

Greenworks outdoor power equipment continues to improve year after year, and brands are continually pushing the limits of cordless technology. One such model is the Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower, which not only steps up the performance, but sets a new standard for their cordless handheld blower lineup.

Pros

  • High CFM rating
  • Well-balanced
  • One-touch turbo mode
  • 360-degree air intake

Cons

  • No significant drawbacks

Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower Performance

  • Max Airflow: 800 CFM
  • Max Airspeed: 200 MPH
  • Blowing Force: 12.2 N (high), 16.1 N (turbo)
  • Gas Equivalent: 26cc
  • Runtime: 60 min. (low), 20 min. (high), 15 min. (turbo)

Blowing Force

Looking at the numbers, it’s hard not to be impressed by this blower. Its brushless motor and inline axial fan produces a whopping 800 CFM with a top air speed of 200mph. This translates to 12.2 Newtons of blowing force on high, and up to 16.1 Newtons with the turbo mode engaged.

With that kind of airflow, this blower is equipped to tackle everything from seasonal broadleaves, fresh snow fall, and stubborn wet debris. Greenworks also includes a fan nozzle as well as a concentrator nozzle with a metal scraper ring.

Runtime

Greenworks tells us that you can expect up to a full hour of runtime on low speed, and as much as 15 minutes with the turbo mode engaged. This is right in line with what we expect from a 2.5Ah battery, but you can always pick up a spare 80V battery if you need a little more runtime.

Kitted 2.5Ah battery

With that said, 15 minutes is plenty of time to clear away grass clippings after a weekend mow, or you simply want to blow leaves off a sidewalk or driveway.

Turbo Mode

I’ve already mentioned that this leaf blower has a turbo mode, but the design team took a pretty unique approach. Greenworks utilizes a one-tap turbo mode that provides continuously boosted power until the button is pressed again, or the trigger is released. It’s a small detail, but this allows you to switch up your hand position while still maintaining peak power.

Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower Design Notes

Greenworks 80V Pro Leaf Blower Profile
  • Model: BLB741
  • Power Source: Greenworks 80V battery
  • Weight: 6.75 lbs (bare tools), 10.4 lbs (with kitted 2.5Ah battery
  • Length: 39.25 in.
  • Noise Level: 85 dBA (high), 90 dBA (turbo)

Size and Weight

This blower weighs in at a modest 6.75 pounds as a bare tool, 10.4 pounds with the kitted 2.5Ah battery, and measures 39.25 inches from tip to tail, including the concentrator nozzle. Like many of its 60V counterparts, this blower is very well-balanced and hangs at a very natural working angle with the battery in place.

Greenworks also includes their innovative Exo Flex lanyard loop. This adjustable shoulder strap contains elastic bands that help relieve some of the blower’s weight, so it’s a little lighter on your arms during extended use.

Ergonomics

Unsurprisingly, this blower features a variable speed trigger, cruise control lever, and a one-touch turbo button located on the top of the handle. The controls are ideal for right-handed operation, but the cruise control lever is pretty large, so you can still manipulate it with your left index finger if need be.

Grip and Trigger

During our testing, I noticed that the grip itself is slightly more narrow than others I’ve tested in the past. I have medium-sized hands, and my fingers easily overlap my thumb while I’m holding the blower. I wouldn’t consider this as a flaw, but it’s something to consider if your hands are on the larger side.

Improved Air Flow

360-degree airflow

As I mentioned earlier, this blower features an inline axial fan, which isn’t new, but Greenworks did redesign the air intake in the name of improved performance. The motor housing now has 360-degree air vents that allow for greater air flow and performance.

Additional Features

  • Compatible with all Greenworks 80V batteries
  • Notched base for vertical wall storage

Greenworks 80V Pro 800 CFM Blower Price

The Greenworks 80V 800 CFM blower exclusively retails at Costco for $249.99 as a kit. The kit includes a 2.5Ah battery, charger, fan nozzle, concentrator nozzle, and an EXO Flex shoulder strap. Greenworks backs it with a 6-month tool and battery warranty.

The Bottom Line

Overall, Greenworks did a great job targeting higher performance with their 80V 800 CFM leaf blower. It’s a bit heavier than less powerful models, but that’s a trade-off I’m willing to make. You will need to drop a few extra bucks to get your hands on it, but that’s not really a surprise when you’re pushing the upper limits of performance. If you’re looking to retire your old gas blower this season, head on down to your local Costco and experience the difference for yourself!
