Greenworks’ bike handle string trimmer controls are set up similarly to what you’d find on a backpack leaf blower. The pistol grip handle features a variable speed trigger, a power button, and a speed control switch that allows it to reach a top speed of 6,500 RPM. Having this range of speeds lets you quickly prioritize between maximum power or longer runtime based on your conditions. This timmer also includes a reverse mode that spins the motor in the opposite direction to assist in detangling any loose debris that wraps around the trimmer head.

The Greenworks 60TB16 string trimmer’s profile is pretty standard, aside from the obvious bike handle controls. It measures 71 inches from tip to tail and the bike handle grips stand 24 inches apart. It weighs 17.5 pounds with a 4.0Ah battery which is slightly higher than the average battery-powered string trimmer. However, the weight is offset by the adjustable padded shoulder strap.
Line changes are pretty simple with Greenworks’ Load N’ Go head. All you need to do is feed your favorite 0.095-inch line through the trimmer head and then twist the lower section clockwise to wind up the line. This is much faster and more simple than the traditional style because there’s no disassembly required.
The biggest benefit of using a bike handle style string trimmer is the increased control while maneuvering from side to side, not to mention the shoulder strap for reduced fatigue. For these reasons, they’re often the go-to choice for larger clearing projects.
